Commonly and affectionately known as “Straddie” (Australians LOVE to shorten names!), one of the long weekends in autumn we spent with a group of dear friends on Stradbroke Island, or Minjerribah as its traditionally known. Located 30 kilometres southeast of Brisbane, it’s the second largest sand island in the world. Only accessible by ferry on either the car or passenger boats, we boarded the SeaLink ferry at Cleveland which takes about 45 minutes one way (hint: book your car on the ferry in advance). The ferry takes you to Dunwich on the east side of the island (close to beautiful Brown Lake), however we chose to stay at Point Lookout on the north-western side of the island. The weather was ideal during our stay which made for perfect beach swimming, headland walks, and the boys loved their surfing at Main Beach and Cylinder Beach. Here’s a little photo diary of our time on beautiful Stradbroke Island:

Absolutely loved this time on Straddie! I’ll be back as soon as I can! A beautiful slice of Creation that we’re so blessed to enjoy.
Psalm 136:1 – Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.
Love, Gracie.
