Our Little Miracle

So, as you can hopefully tell from the picture, we are expecting a little miracle, our first baby this year! We are so incredibly thankful for this gift from God, a real answer to many prayers, and are looking forward to our journey of becoming parents. I am currently in the third trimester and it’s all very real and exciting (baby is kicking and moving around as I write this). This is something I’m sure I’ll be talking about a lot more in this blog, including reflecting on each of the trimesters, the great parts of pregnancy, the tricky parts, the nursery set-up, and lots more. Chris and I also enjoyed a super beautiful baby moon to Tasmania in November of 2023 which I will certainly do a blog post on because it was amazing (it was also lovely and cold which is just music to your ears when you’re pregnant, especially since it was nearly 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) where we live that week).

Psalm 139:13-14 – For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

I’ve always loved this verse from Psalm 139, however, being pregnant and having life grow inside me has deepened my faith in God and His amazing miracle of Creation and the gift of life. Hearing little baby’s heartbeat at the 8 week scan was the sweetest moment and I will treasure that moment forever. It’s also been just so uplifting sharing our news with family and friends and witnessing their reactions, just so full of joy and excitement and love, with multiple happy tears shed. I’ve loved how supportive and kind Chris has been throughout everything, even during his gruelling study for some incredibly challenging exams.

Also, thank you to the amazing Mallory Sparkles for capturing beautiful photos during our maternity photoshoot. She also did our wedding photos and it was so sweet to follow on with her again for our maternity photos.

Thank You Jesus for this gift!

Love, Gracie.
