Buying Australian-Made Products

Over the weekend, Chris and I bought an Akubra (deriving from the Aboriginal meaning for “head covering”) hat each as we were generously gifted with a voucher to a store that sold them. Living out in the country, we bought them not for a fashion statement but because they are a great hat and protect against the harsh sun. While we were choosing, I did notice some other hats that looked great on and were much cheaper. But, there was something about them that made it less appealing: those other hats weren’t made in Australia.

Call me patriotic, but I am all about supporting Australian made products! I want to support companies and brands that are from here so that our country can keep on supplying our own products. Obviously I don’t buy everything that’s labelled “Made in Australia”, but when given the choice and decision, I prefer to purchase products made here.

Last year I switched skin care products to an Australian owned and made brand that I am absolutely loving – Mukti Organics. I love supporting local businesses, brands, and companies through purchases of food, clothing, homewares, skin care, all the fun things.

If you know of any great Australian businesses and brands to support, please let me know! There’s so many out there.

Psalm 33:12 – Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance.

Love, Gracie.
